MEETING OF IMPORTANCE:
THE GEMS IN MY LIFE:
Leo Yankevich
Polish Poet
Hereunder some of the fabulous poems the Polish Poet , Leo Yankevich, sent to me in year 2000-We came again into contact today on the eve of 2002, and more has been written. If I were to admit ( as I do not believe that I am *readily and willingly* open to influences) to have been influenced poetically by a contemporary poet, I would definetely, though our meetings were brief, point towards Leo Yankevich.
His poetry is available at Amazon.com

UNDE MALUM
Blame the wind. Its always there. On the lip
Of dawn spinning weathercocks, at the head
Of storms, at the foot of clouds, banging red
Roofs. Blame the wind. Blame the wind. On the tip
Of hills, heralding a horror to come,
Blunt, old, real. Blame the wind. The madman
Crushes a skull beneath a swirling fan,
The seer fails his god to a fatal hum.
Blame the wind. The moon is on quite backwards,
The stars tearless Abyssinian eyes.
Blame the wind. Blame the wind. The Earth is not
Globose, but flat, flat as duplicitous words.
Blame the wind. Blame the wind. These sullen sighs
Flow from a divine lung
carrion
rot.

The Golem Of Gleiwitz
Cattle-cars
from another era
paint my pain
but none
but a flogged rabbi's
unfaithful wife,
Lady lazurovitch
remembers I exist
Rooks cough
in my ear,
rats scurry,
through my eyes
and I am grateful
as shattered glass
in a house
full of
pane-less windows.
I am patina
and sooty gothic
that riddled wall
where seven ?bermeschen
braided
my weeping uncle's
ecstatic beard
Amid fey laughter
and cabalistic spells
I am resurrected
each day
to remind
the wind
of the true meanings
of sabbaths.
